The International Accounting Group (TIAG), which has 86 members in 56 jurisdictions in over 155 offices, including Portman International from Malta, is celebrating its fifth anniversary.

In a message in the group's 2007 annual report, TIAG chairman and founder Peter Appleton Jones looked back on an encouraging year, "with a number of new and potentially new member firms voicing their support for what TIAG offers".

High on the list is the education offered by TAG Academy with 80 courses divided among management/marketing topics. There are plans for a TAG Academy En Español for Latin American members.

Combined with TAGLaw - TIAG's sister network of international law firms - the two alliances span the globe with more than 235 firms operating out of nearly 460 offices in 101 countries, giving clients access to 9,500 professionals.

In the first five weeks of 2007, 10 more members joined the TIAG network and by year's end TIAG gained 16 new members - a 15 per cent gain, of whom two in Asia/Pacific and one in Latin America.

But the greatest TIAG gain was in Europe with the addition of five new member firms in Rome, Eastern Netherlands, Copenhagen, Malmö and Munich.

Portman International, with headquarters in Floriana, has offices in London and Dublin. Apart from providing full accounting services, it provides back office administration services, corporate services, trustee and nominee services, trading and banking support and assistance in compliance and regulatory affairs.

Through its membership in TIAG, Portman International provides quick access to accounting, corporate and tax services around the world.
