An 18-year-old Russian girl who was knocked down while crossing Tower Road in Sliema on Friday night is still in a critical condition, police said yesterday. The car was driven by a 19-year-old from Mosta.

Meanwhile, police said the nine year-old girl hit by a car while crossing the road at Għadira with her grandmother on Tuesday is still fighting for her life. Her grandmother is no longer in critical condition.

Another woman injured in Ħamrun when her car crashed into a shop front last week is also in danger.

The police said the condition of a 20-year-old man from Tarxien who injured his back when he dived into the sea last Tuesday at Marsaxlokk had improved.

Likewise, a 26-year-old motorcyclist from Birżebbuġa, injured following a collision with a bus near Addolorata Cemetery last Tuesday, is no longer on the danger list.
