England's team performance in beating Croatia 5-1 on Wednesday to qualify for next year's World Cup in South Africa was very good, with a great scoreline.

Under Italian coach Fabio Capello, England are a determined, well-drilled, focused unit and he has brought toughness to the team that makes them hard to beat. What he has also brought to the team is a sense that no-one is guaranteed to be included in the squad, and that keeps everyone on their toes.

There have been accusations in the past that players aren't as committed for England as they are for their clubs; a conclusion drawn at times from the fact that players cannot reproduce their club form internationally.

This is not always to do with commitment; it is down to the fact that bringing a team together five days a month from all different quarters and asking them to combine makes it so much harder to perform well as a group. In terms of players, England needs experience and quality in their squad and David Beckham has the capabilities to still deliver at the highest level. A squad of 23 going to a World Cup has to have all types of people within it and David is and will be a valuable member of this squad.

With regard to David's team situation, he will without doubt use the US off-season to play in Europe as he loves the game and will want to remain fit for England.

There will be a number of teams vying to win the World Cup. At the moment Spain and Brazil look strong, but come a major championship anything can happen with form, luck, injuries and other factors. The best team now is irrelevant - it is in June that it will matter, and England will be in South Africa, which is great.

Premier League teams still strong

The Champions' League group stage begins this week and some are predicting Real Madrid and Barcelona will be the teams to beat because of the prestigious signings they have made.

But let's not forget, last season there were three English teams in the Champions League semi-finals, so to suggest our league is falling behind is way wide of the mark.

Teams from Germany, Italy and Spain will always be strong and cycles will occur, but the Premier League is the most watched and supported league in the world.

I never as a player predict who will finish where in the Premier League. One reason is I honestly don't know at this early stage, and also it can tempt fate. The 'big four', along with Spurs, Man City, Aston Villa and Everton will be there, but in what position is anyone's guess.

Diving exaggerated

Much was made of Eduardo's alleged 'simulation' to win a penalty against Celtic in the Champions League qualifier recently.

However, I don't feel this is a big issue in the game. Let's talk about great goals and football. We are obsessed with the negative when this is only one per cent of the entire game.

Over to you...

Do you think Manchester United have got what it takes to win the Champions League and Premier League this year?
Anne Marie Sant

These are the competitions we aim for every year at Old Trafford.

However, to win one of these competitions is hard work, let alone winning both. Our boss always sets us a target of winning one trophy every year as a club, but I suppose with us winning two, three and four at times in the last 10 seasons, we have set standards that are incredibly hard to maintain.

We have the belief and experience to win trophies, we just need to perform at a high level week-in week-out, but we would never say as players we will win a particular trophy.

As Manchester United captain and supporter, what are your fondest memories from the history of the club? And what is best moment of your career so far?
Robert Borg

My fondest memories from the history of the club come from the photographs and films of the Busby Babes wearing the club blazer that we still wear today, and my fondest childhood memory was being present at the game when Bryan Robson signed for United, especially with him turning out to be my hero and getting the chance to play with him.

My best moment was making my debut for the club since this was a realisation of my lifelong dream to play for Manchester United.
