Three people were injured, two seriously, in two separate traffic accidents last night, police said. 

A 17-year-old was injured after being hit by a taxi in Triq L-Erba’ Mwieżeb, St Paul's Bay yesterday at around 9pm. Police initially described his injuries as serious but subsequently clarified that to note that he was only slightly injured.  

The taxi, a BMW, was being driven by a 24-year-old from Żurrieq. 

In a separate crash, three Italians were injured after the BMW one of them was driving crashed and flipped over in Triq Sant'Andrija, Swieqi at around 5.30am. 

A 37-year-old passenger was seriously injured in the crash, while a 29-year-old suffered slight injuries. The driver's condition is not yet know. 

Police investigations are underway for both cases.
