Three drivers escaped with minor injuries in a multiple collision in Mdina Road, Qormi at about 1.30 p.m. yesterday.

The police said that on being informed about the accident, which involved five cars, they went on site and found that three cars, a Lada, a Honda and a Fiat, collided as they were being driven in the same direction. Two of the cars, the Honda and the Lada overturned.

On impact, one of the cars careered out of control and crashed against two parked vehicles.

An ambulance rushed the three injured drivers to Mater Dei Hospital where they were found to be suffering from slight injuries. In fact, the drivers of the Lada and the Fiat were discharged after treatment while the Honda driver was kept for further treatment due to injuries caused by flying glass shards. The police said his condition was not serious.

The police are investigating.
