Three men are expected to be charged with drug possession or trafficking and another, aged 60, with possession of counterfeit euro notes.

Acting on information that a 25-year-old man was involved in drug trafficking from his residence, the police said they stopped the individual yesterday afternoon at Birkirkara and found him in possession of a number of sachets containing heroin, which was to be trafficked. The police also found an amount of heroin and other objects related to drug trafficking.

The police said they also arrested the suspect’s 60-year-old father who was found in possession of false euro notes.

Inspections at a number of entertainment spots in Paceville on Saturday night led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man from Birkirkara who the police said was in possession of cocaine.

A 28-year-old man from Qormi was arrested at his hometown on Saturday afternoon after 54 ecstasy pills, a small amount of cannabis leaves and items associated with drug abuse and trafficking were found at his residence during a raid.

The police suspect that the man was also trafficking heroin.
