The second edition of a three-day cultural festival Is-Sagra ta' San Girgor is being organised by the Kercem council between March 12 and 14.

On March 12, the Kercem Parish Church will host a “Notte Gregoriana”, which includes a concert of Gregorian Chants by a choir led by Mro John Galea.

During the same activity, the superintendence of Cultural Heritage will make an official presentation on the recently discovered prehistoric tombs of Kercem. The Gozo Minister will then inaugurate an exhibition in the church annexe. A visit to the prehistoric site will be possible.

A free cultural tour of the Sanctuary of Kercem will be held on March 13. Booking is from the council offices or by e-mail.

The main highlight on March 13 will, however, an open air Festa Familja at Pjazza San Girgor. The activity will include dance, local artists and the Aurora Folk Group. Pamela and Glenn Vella will host the night. Local cuisine will be prepared by the ITS students.

On March 14 there will be the “Festival tad-Djaletti u Għana” hosted by Charles Coleiro, and a “Classical Motor Show” by the Old Motors Club. These events will be held in the main streets of Kercem.

A Gozitan traditional lunch will be served, during which the Gozitan folk group Tar-Raħal will participate.
