President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca is once again without an official spokesperson after the latest incumbent left her post.

Sources close to the Office of the President said that Maria Muscat, a former PBS journalist, has decided to return to the broadcaster.

When contacted, Ms Muscat, known to have forged a close relationship with the President, confirmed she was leaving after 15 months in the post, but did not comment further.

Ms Coleiro Preca’s first spokeswoman, former One TV journalist Melissa Vella, left just a few months after taking responsibility for the communications office of the President. She was followed by Edward Montebello, who left after a short spell.
