€12,000 worth of precious items were stolen from a jewellery shop in Victoria yesterday morning.

The police suspect four Bulgarians entered Tresor d’Or in Palm Street at about 9.40am and asked to see some items. A salesgirl put aside some gold pieces she had been handling to show them the items.

At around 10.30am, the salesgirl realised the gold pieces she had put aside earlier were missing.

CCTV footage was given to the police. The duty magistrate appointed several court experts to assist in an inquiry.
