Featuring three top French dub artists, Amplify is the name of the summer event being hosted by Bass Culture in collaboration with Remissa & Island Rockers Sound System. The event sees artists Panda Dub and Mayd Hubb, who last year performed to packed venues, and Tiburk.
Dub is renowned for creating his own style as a dub maker with music based on reggae roots, UK stepper and French electro dub with a perfect blend of ethnic samples, edgy and showcasing powerful electro tunes and heavy rhythm. During the event he is expected to showcase his new album, The Lost Ship.
Mayd Hubb’s music is characterised by an experience in the depths of the underground. Constantly pushing the frontier of genres, he has managed to create a recognisable sound adapted to the power of broadband sound like a shockwave.During his previous performance in Malta, Hubb impressed with a high energy and powerful performance.
TiburkTiburk grew up listening to late 1990s French dub and is known for skilfully combining the various sides of dub music from the beginning to cutting-edge mix.
He is expected to perform a roots dub to dubstep set with live and powerful beats.Amplify kicks off early afternoon with a mini-festival setup, including food stands by Grassy Hopper, cocktails and mixes by Remissa and customised sound by Island Rockers Sound System.
Maltese acts Freedom Fighters, ShowMe Selecta, Sequenchill, EarthRocker and the Bass Culture Crew will also be playing.
The line-up starts with reggae and roots, moving on to dub later in the night and finishing off with some psy-dub chillout music.
