Every project that can generate some business around areas of St Paul's Bay and Mellieħa will always be jammed in government departments. I know of six different applications active in the area and pending because of government authorities. One of them has been pending for more than seven years.

Over the past few weeks the media has been full of the Mistra night club scandal. If it is ever built, has someone considered what a big boost it would give to all businesses in the area? Can the night club not be built like a cottage, in a style that suits the area or like the restaurant next to the site? Can the permit not be granted against a condition that the site is used as a public garden during the day?

The big scandal is that every time someone tries to introduce something different on the market, they find all doors closed and hundreds of obstacles before they can even get started. This is already happening to me and I am only 30 years of age.

My appeal to the Prime Minister is to give us opportunities.
