I feel we should have a referendum on the proposals for the rebuilding of the Opera House site.

Should we rebuild the Opera House exactly as it was or build a convention and cultural centre cum parliament?

The government cannot ignore the fact that this is a controversial issue. My feeling is that it is not only ordinary people who want the Opera House to be rebuilt as before, but also many architects and lovers of our culture and heritage.

In view of this, the government cannot simply ignore public opinion and just go ahead with its decision.

Apart from the fact that Malta could apply for EU funds for the project, why does it not put pressure on the German government to contribute towards it?

Malta has been too complacent regarding this most important cultural issue, so it is about time it makes its voice heard in Europe - after all, we are now 'equal partners'.
