The new look Modern Elegance will start being distributed with The Sunday Times as from tomorrow.

The magazine first hit the news-stands 22 years ago as a women's journal by the name of Elegance and commenced its relationship with The Times when its publishers started distributing it with the Saturday newspaper in 2002.

"We felt the magazine was due for another major face-lift in most areas," the editor of ME, Sarah Borg, said.

"To start off with, in order to further break down the gender barrier, we have shortened the magazine name to ME. We strongly believe that there really is no more scope, or time, for women to be treated any differently than men, and vice-versa, and that the contemporary lifestyle of 2006 is common to both sexes. The design has been re-visited accordingly and the editorial content will also reflect this. We are targeting the new, design-hungry generation of consumers who rather than be 'one of the lot' are seeking individual style in all areas of their life.

"Ever since we first re-launched Modern Elegance, the magazine has always been regarded as one of the most influential fashion and style magazines on the island. Today, in 2006, the new ME will continue to strengthen this position, but also expand on the design world in general. We are certainly looking at ME becoming the most authoritative design magazine in Malta."

In tomorrow's edition - and in the first of an ongoing series of open discussions, and the exchange of opinions, entitled MEValletta - architect Konrad Buhagiar divulges his plans for an ideal Valletta had he been given a blank cheque. Woody Aki takes an insider's look at the long and successful career of award-winning DJ duo Deep Dish, who will be hitting our shores later on this month.

ME also takes a look at the new season's key fashion looks and trends, Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Pavilion, the new Volvo C30 Design Concept, the new architectural masterpiece Hotel Puerta América in Madrid, V&A Museum's Anna Piaggi: Fashion-ology exhibition in London, the new Alfa 159, and much more.

ME is published by Q Publications and printed by Progress Press.
