Environment Minister Leo Brincat and Animal Rights Parliamentary Secretary Roderick Galdes filed a judicial protest completely denying allegations levelled at them by the operator of the San Frangisk Animal Centre, Trevor Zammit.

In the protest they said that the expectations of Dr Zammit – who last Tuesday filed an official letter holding Mr Galdes responsible for any damages he may suffer as a result of the government’s decision to hold a customer service review of the animal hospital Ċentru San Franġisk in Ta’ Qali -  are “unfounded and baseless”.

They claimed that the centre presently falls under the wing of the Environment Ministry and they accused Dr Zammit of breaching the contract.

“He has been using parts of the centre as a shop, selling medicines, animal food supplies and other animal-related objects without the express consent of the Ministry,” the letter read.

Consequently, Mr Brincat and Mr Gales are holding Dr Zammit responsible for damages.
