The plot thickens, campers. Apparently, the brazen hussy or defender of free speech or doughty up-sticker for our rights, whatever you want to call her, had her little stunt all planned out, with the media neatly set up for it. She also seems to have played a tiny, weeny, itsy-bitsy fast and loose with the bus routes, because it seems that there isn't actually a bus that connects Naxxar and Attard, stupendous locations though these are.

Since I haven't bothered to figure out the bus routes yet, the weather having been kind enough to let me use the bike to get into town, I can't really argue the toss about the bus route bit and it wouldn't be nice to dump on the young lady for having pre-planned her spontaneous outburst, these things having been done before.

The thing is, though, that when these different, less edifying, facets to the whole affair start coming into sharper focus, the thing tends to de-value itself, which applies also to what seemed at first to be the graceful apology for her gutter language that she let slip to the media.

So perhaps a line should now be drawn, before it all gets way too serious and not fun any more.

Let's postpone the line-drawing for just a few moments, though, to extend an accusing finger in the direction of Joe Grima, who was on Super One lauding Abela Garrett to the heavens for her courage in standing up to The Man, using her as an example for her student compatriots to follow in protesting against the Government.

Joe Grima should shut up and no two ways about it.

Whenever students from 1977 to 1987 stood up and protested against the Government, the Mintoffian Government of which Joe Grima was a member, they were beaten, prosecuted and attacked by the Police and by the thugs that used to hang around them with impunity.

A number of these students are now leaders of the country, despite the efforts of Joe Grima and his ilk. And then Joe Grima has the barefaced cheek to invoke student resistance and protest against the Government.

God give me strength, the sheer hypocrisy of some people.
