Such is the way of democracy and there's an end to it.This blog will be short, not because I'm not in the mood to write but because there's not much to say.

Close it wasn't, by a long shot. Plenty of people will have to take a good long look at what they've done and - more importantly - what they neglected to do to contribute to the PN's trouncing.

Allow me to exclude Dr Gonzi from that last statement.

He has been humiliated, it is true, and will take the consequences, but he can leave the scene with his head up, proud that he guided this country safely through enormous problems.

He remained a gentleman of integrity all through, despite the snapping of ingrates and whelps at his ankles.

On a personal note, to those who will crow gleefully and blow their noses all over me, all I can say is, enjoy yourselves, I can't find it in my heart to blame you, even though being only human I won't try to kid you that I'll enjoy it.
