Dorian Murray, of Westerly, Rhode Island, is dying of a rare paediatric cancer known as alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. He told his father that what he really wants before he goes to heaven is to be famous in China. His father posted the wish on Facebook, asking for people in China and elsewhere to send a picture to Dorian with a sign saying "#D-Strong".
The wish spread across the globe, prompting thousands of responses. It especially struck a chord in China and became a trending topic on Weibo, China's Twitter-like microblog service.
