Terence Scerri, the Valletta striker who last month was suspended for one year by the MFA for stamping Floriana player Christian Cassar at the end of the FA Trophy final, has had his suspension reduced.

The ban was reduced to eight games by the MFA Appeals Board after an appeal filed by Valletta.

Scerri also has another five-match ban for having passed remarks at the referee during the same match.

Mr Scerri had been subsequently taken to court. His bail conditions include a one year ban from going to a football ground anywhere on the Maltese islands.
