The Energy Ministry has issued an international call for tenders to carry out a study on laying down a natural gas pipeline between Malta and Gela in Sicily.

The winning company will be required to identify the best route including conceptual design of the pipeline and land-based infrastructure and identify the connection points, onshore routes and sites for the terminal stations in both Gela and Delimara.

The study would include a hydraulic analysis and a cost estimation based on the identified route.
