An 18-year-old man yesterday admitted to having swindled his girlfriend and passed her house key to three friends who burgled the place while the two went out.

On August 21, the thieves made off with about €10,000 worth of items, including four shotguns, jewellery and cash from the house in Qrendi, which the teenager shared with her family. Jordan Brown, of Safi, admitted to being an accomplice and giving instructions to his three friends to burgle the house. His defence lawyer, Franco Debono, told Magistrate Giovanni Grixti his client would be admitting to the charges.

After confirming Mr Brown’s admission, the magistrate put off judgment for Monday.
