A teenage British boxer who used four cars and a shop sign as a punching bag during a drunken fit of rage was yesterday conditionally discharged for eight months.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be mentioned since he is still a minor, pleaded guilty to having caused €625 worth of damage to the cars parked on the Tigné seafront early on Sunday.
Taking note of the circumstances of the case and the fact that the teenager was in contact with relatives to have the money sent to him, Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit gave him until Saturday to pay for the damage.
Police inspector Jason Sultana prosecuted while lawyer Abigail Bugeja appeared for the accused.
