The last three matches of the national leagues were played on Sunday at the University Sports Hall. The Challenge Trophy is now next in line on Sunday.
First Division
Kerygma 30
Marsascala 28
The teams were evenly balanced as the scoreline indicates. Marsascala, with their status secured, fielded a different formation.
Kerygma had a good match and enjoyed 63 attempts compared to Marsascala's 40.
Kerygma won the match with a close score mainly through better ball possession and controlling the game at their own pace.
All Ages E'change 44
HSBC 29
HSBC will play in the second division next season. Their bid to survive was not helped by the numerous injuries that hampered the team's play.
Against All Ages, they fought bravely and almost had the same amount of shooting attempts as the league's runners-up. However, All Ages' shooters were more focused and displayed better coordination and passing of the ball.
Second Division
Ta' Xbiex Wolverines 31
Kerygma B 19
Champions Ta' Xbiex applied some changes in their line-up. Kerygma took their chances well and were only 14-12 behind in the second quarter.
However, Ta' Xbiex staved off the bold resistance of their opponents in the late stages of the match to maintain a perfect record.
