As a bar owner I feel utterly frustrated with the service offered by Melita. As one of their loyal clients, I was offered an HD box for “free” and, to my surprise, my monthly commercial rates suddenly increased by €10 monthly, not to mention the lack of assistance; the fact that no information was given to me on how to operate this user-unfriendly box. Neither did they inform me that all cables from the TV to the HD box had to be changed, all at my expense, to see a high definition picture. It cost me an extra €1,400 to change all the wiring to the new system for eight TVs.

I wasn’t surprised then when Melita stopped showing all English and Italian league matches. Not to mention the fact that they are advertising they have exclusive rights to screen the European championship matches and, as another “bluff”, on August 19 and again on August 26 there was a full programme of European championship matches and Melita never showed one single match. I pay a very high commercial rate for two Melita boxes and the kind of service I get is that whenever I call their customer care I have to wait for at least 12 minutes until someone answers the call. What’s more, they don’t seem to care if their clients are not satisfied with their service.
