The Take Off business incubator, located at the University of Malta, was launched this afternoon.
It offers a start-up development space to help innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs create thriving technology and knowledge-based ventures.
It will do this by providing fledgling start-up companies with private and shared work spaces, business support, advice and vital connections. It will also lower start-ups costs and risks and improve chances of success, explained University Rector Juanito Camilleri as he spoke during the launch attended by Education Minister Evarist Bartolo.
During the event, Investment Minister Chris Cardona launched the Take Off Seed Fund Award - Malta’s first funding programme designed to support early-stage technology and start-up company development.
Government gave the fund €100,000 that will go for grants to help close the funding gap experienced by researchers and entrepreneurs in critical early-stages.
