I always knew that he was into R&B and Hip-Hop but hey, at least he could acknowledge my presence!
'Rump Roasting, Bun Toasting'
And he went on and on...
'Teeth Shaking, Glass Breaking'
And on...
'Earthquaker Shaker and In-Your-Face Disgrace'
Till he finally turned towards me with a smile and asked me what I thought of them.
I must admit that I was a little bit lost but Cikku went on to explain that them were the names of famous dunks executed and christened by MR. Darryl Dawkins a powerhouse who brought showtime to the NBA!

The slam-dunk has always been one of the most spectacular moves in basketball.
It is this expression of power and agility, which has captured the imagination of so many youths around the world... and now the Maltese public can experience the thrill of the dunk in the first ever Slam Dunk competition held locally.
Actually the Slam Dunk Competition is only the cherry on top of the cake as it forms part of the First Maltahoops All Star Afternoon which will be held next Sunday at Ta' Qali.

And Papa! This is not just going to be an afternoon for basketball fans only! It promises to be a spectacle that can be enjoyed by all the family.
Kids are sure to enjoy the antics of the Kinnie Kool Kat while everybody can join in the sense of brotherhood that comes with helping a good cause.
All the proceeds from the afternoon will go to helping the YMCA Shelter for the Homeless.
The entrance fee is only Lm1.50 for adults and 75c for kids under 12 although if anyone would like to give a little something extra they are always welcome to!

But it sure is pretty! What I am referring to is the Diamond pendant that will be won by one of the hundreds of people expected to turn up for the Maltahoops event.
This diamond, which has been kindly donated by Gaba Gioielli costs the princely sum of Lm500 and should make someone very happy next weekend!
Dunk You Very Much!
I would like to thank all of you, who have put up with my ranting and ravings over the past twelve months. I would also like to deny rumours being spread that Take it to the Hole! will be even nastier next season if Ta' Qali isn't filled to the brim next Sunday!
I can promise you however, that the players are very enthusiastic about the event and that helping the YMCA is as good a reason as any to pop up to Ta' Qali after lunch. The event starts at 2.30 p.m., be there!
