A team from the Malta Taekwondo Federation (MTF) have just participated in the seventh British International Open in London.

The Maltese team, headed by Christopher Vella and coach Brian Saliba, was made up of Stephen Formosa, Neville Desira, David Pulis, Josef Spiteri and Joan Borg. Analise Moran and Joseph Schembri assisted the Maltese contingent during their participation in the British Open. The competitions were contested by 300 athletes from bigger countries like England, France, Spain and Brazil.

Desira landed a bronze medal for Malta after winning two fights, 9-5 and 9-4.

The Maltese athletes are currently taking part in various international competitions in preparation for the Games of the Small States of Europe to be held in Andorra next year.
