A 23-year-old Syrian, Muhammed Muhammed Kadled, resident in Hamrun, this morning admitted in court to having slightly injured ETC official Carmel Polidano and resisted police orders in an incident which happened at Swatar last week.

Police Inspector Joseph Hersey testified that the accused was working on a construction site. When he saw the ETC official inspecting the site with a policeman, he got scared and started running from the site. He accidentally hit the ETC official, injuring his finger.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna noted that the accused was a first time offender and the incident was minor. He therefore conditionally discharged him for a year.
