MBT Massai Barefoot Technology (MBT) physiological footwear was launched in Malta during an event at the Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprise - GRTU in Valletta. Andy Dittert, international marketing manager of Massai Marketing & Trading AG of Switzerland, said that what differentiates MBTs from conventional shoes is that the natural instability underneath the feet ensures that neglected muscle groups automatically perform the balancing movements that nature intended.

Swiss engineered, MBT gives one the feeling of walking on soft, natural ground, even when walking on the hardest surface, he said.

The MBT's special sole construction enforces a natural instability and stimulates the wearer's body to tiny, unconscious balancing movements. This trains muscles effectively, stabilises joints and strengthens the whole muscular-skeletal system, he explained.

Mr Dittert said that many MBT wearers have been made aware of the physiological shoe by experts particularly in order to alleviate complaints with knee joints, hips or backs quickly and permanently.
