Swedish police have found two bags of inflammable liquids at an asylum centre that housed an Eritrean man who stabbed two people to death at an Ikea furniture store.

Swedish Migration Agency spokesman Fredrik Bengtsson said that 83 residents were evacuated from the asylum centre in Arboga in central Sweden. No arrests have been made.

Mr Bengtsson said police have stepped up patrols at the shelter since Monday, when the 36-year-old Eritrean man - who has not been named, killed a Swedish woman and her adult son in Vasteras, west of Stockholm.

It was not clear whether the liquids finding was linked to a Thursday rally where a handful of protesters shouted anti-immigrant slogans outside the asylum centre and threw eggs.
