Bank of Valletta has been constantly committed to play a leading role in supporting and promoting business growth in Gozo and supporting the Gozitan community. In line with this credo, BOV has moved its Gozo Investment Centre and is in the final stages of moving its agency in Xagħra to new upgraded premises.

BOV CEO Mario Mallia and chief officer retail banking Horace Laudi greeted Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana when she visited these new offices and the bank’s main branch in Victoria.

“At Bank of Valletta, we fully understand the needs of Gozo. We remain close to the communities that we serve, working with our Gozitan customers and providing support through our expertise and value-added services,” said Mallia. “Bank of Valletta is a very active player in the Gozitan community and supports a number of cultural, philanthropic and sporting initiatives in Gozo such as the operas produced by the two main theatres in Gozo, the restoration of works of art such as the Giuseppe Cali paintings at the old Għajnsielem church and the original Emvin Cremona paintings at Ta’ Pinu church. We are also the main sponsors of the Gozo Football Association,” he added.

“The improved facilities at both of our new outlets will ensure that our customers receive the highest level of service and a superior customer experience in a larger, modern environment,’ said Laudi. “Our ever increasing commitment towards the Gozitan community goes way beyond new facilities and excellent financial services. Over the past years we have substantially increased the number of BOV employees deployed in Gozo’s branch, agencies and departments, currently standing at 117 employees.”

Dr Caruana stated that the economy in Gozo is indeed thriving thanks to the vision outlined by this government, that of transforming the island into a hub for economic activity.

“The supportive framework for the attraction of business investment at the national level is helping us to achieve our goals,” she said, while thanking Bank of Valletta for investing in its most important asset in Gozo, the human capital, which now a day stands at over 100 employees. She augured Bank of Valletta to continue to invest and expand its operations in Gozo.

The new Gozo Investment Centre is located at Il-Mall in Triq Giorgio Borg Olivier in Victoria while the new Xagħra agency is in Triq it-Tmienja ta’ Settembru.
