'Sustainable development strategies for small states' was the theme of a five-day workshop organised last week by the University's Islands and Small States Institute in collaboration with the Small States Network for Economic Development, primarily for public sector officials of small Caribbean, Indian Ocean, Pacific and Africa states. Photo shows the participants with institute director Lino Briguglio and Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said (seated, second and third from left), at the workshop's inauguration. It was addressed by speakers from the University, the Malta Environment and Planning Authority, the United Nations, Eurostat and the Welsh government.
