A suspended police inspector who is out on bail has been granted bail again today after pleading not guilty to a long list of charges.

Inspector Jeffrey Cilia, 38, of Naxxar, was granted bail in December, pending a decision on a case in which he allegedly attacked three brothers in Paceville. He was also suspended.

Today, Mr Cilia pleaded not guilty to 19 charges including threatening Police Commissioner John Rizzo, assistant commissioner Lawrence Cauchi and Superintendent Domnic Micallef in Sliema on Friday night.

He also pleaded not guilty to threatening an officer and a police woman and to using electronic equipment in ways other than it was intended.

Mr Cilia was charged with threatening to defame a person through a network or communication equipment, harassing a number of people, offending the Police Commissioner's family, voluntarily damaging the door of a private property and entering a property without the owner's permission.

He was charged with breaching the peace, being drunk in public, using foul and/or indecent language, disobeying police orders, driving carelessly and under the influence of alcohol and breaching bail conditions.
