A 25-year-old man from Qormi has been given a one-year jail term suspended for four years after he was found guilty of being in possession of more than 300 grammes of cannabis resin.

Johnny Aquilina was charged with being in possession of the drug, which was found at his home divided in 17 pieces, in amounts which denoted it was not for his exclusive use.

However, the court ruled that not enough proof had been presented to show that the drug was not for his exclusive use.

Mr Aquilina was represented by Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri.
