A 27-year-old man from Qormi was today given a two-year jail term suspended for four years and fined €1,000 for handling counterfeit cash.

The court heard that the accused used the cash to buy an iPhone. However, the police are still trying to find other possible victims.

The court ordered the accused’s name not to be divulged because of ongoing investigations.

Lawyer Caroline Farrugia Frendo appeared for the man while Insp. Anna Marie Xuereb prosecuted.
