The government made another surplus in September, of €25.3 million, bringing the total surplus for the first nine months of the year up to €56.4 million.

During the same period of 2016, the government had a deficit of €63.6 million, representing a reversal of €120 million.

The government brought in €2.97 billion fduring the January to September period, and spent €2.91 billion.

The interest component of the public debt servicing costs stood at €163 million, down from €170.2
million last year.

At the end of September 2017, the debt stood at €5,560.9 million, up by €31.8 million over the corresponding month last year.
