Heritage Malta again be holding the popular Sundays With Heritage Malta, when heritage sites are open to the public for special events.

The first heritage Sunday will take place on January 27 and will focus on Vittoriosa and Qrendi, giving visitors the opportunity to enter Fort St Angelo and Ħaġar Qim, neither of which are currently open to the public.

Ħaġar Qim, where a protective cover is in the process of being installed, will be open on that day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, guided tours will be taking place at Fort St Angelo, parts of which were recently handed over to Heritage Malta. The tours will be held at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. in English and at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. in Maltese. Participants are to meet in front of the Malta Maritime Museum 15 minutes before the start of the tour.

There will also be events and guided tours at the Malta Maritime Museum and the Inquisitor's Palace in Vittoriosa. Both sites will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with guided tours in Maltese during the morning at the Maritime Museum and throughout the day at the Inquisitor's Palace.

Members of the Historical Re-enactment Group Malta (HRGM) will be performing a series of military and historical interpretations at the Malta Maritime Museum between 2.30 and 4.30 p.m.

The Ġukulari ensemble will be performing at the Inquisitor's Palace between 2 and 4 p.m. The ensemble records music related to Malta ranging from formal dances of the Knights of St John to music of the Maltese town dwellers and għana melodies. The musicians generally perform in elegant 18th century costumes.

A multi-site ticket for all of the Vittoriosa events costs €7 (Lm 3.01) for adults and senior citizens. Children under the age of 16 enter for free. The tickets can be bought at the Malta Maritime Museum or the Inquisitor's Palace. Tickets for Ħaġar Qim can be bought on site at the reduced rate of €4.50 (Lm 1.93) for adults, €2.25 (Lm0.97) for students and senior citizens and €1 (Lm0.43) for children.
