A summer School in theology is being organised by the Faculty of Theology, University of Malta, and the Theological Commission, Malta, between June 28 and July 9 on the theme 'The Religious Quest: The Interface between Spirituality and Culture in the Mediterranean'.

The Mediterranean basin is the cradle of the three monotheistic faiths - Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and is a confluence of cultures. The quest for the 'Absolute' in these religions is a basic dimension which, in turn, leads to anthropological and sociological perspectives. Malta will be taken as a case study.

Participants attending the summer school will acquire a wide spectrum of knowledge and experience regarding a number of themes encompassing Mediterranean primordial religions and the monotheistic faiths.

The fact that the summer school is being held in Malta facilitates the participants' hands-on encounter with the spiritual quest of humanity in the Mediterranean.

Lectures will be accompanied by cultural tours to archaeological and historical venues. Applicants from all walks of life are accepted.

On completion of the summer school, participants will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
