The Malta-built powerboat Ukrainian Spirit, crewed by Aaron Ciantar and Viktor Shemchul, won the top manufacturer category in the Key West Super Boat World Championships, whose finals were held last night.

Ukrainian Spirit came first in the Manufacturer Production1 category, one of 12 sections in the championship and the showcase for manufacturers.

Two racers were injured yesterday, although their injuries are not serious. Earlier last week  Warpaint owner/driver Bob Vesper  and throttleman Danny Crank died when their boat smacked into a wave. Page Motorsports throttleman Joey Gratton  died on Friday night as his boat rolled over.
