There is strong interest from potential investors in setting up shop at the Life Sciences Park, Economic Affairs Minister Chris Cardona said today.
The minister toured works on the project in San Gwann today and said the project is on track and on time.
Work is currently focussed on the building of the infrastructure and on promotion, with investors being encouraged to set up laboratories and research centres there.
The response so far has been very good and a substantial number of companies are ready to operate from this site, Dr Cardona said.
Structural works are expected to be be completed by the end of the year, with completion of the project in autumn next year, when the first tenants will move in.
Malta Enterprise chairman Mario Vella said changes had been made to ensure that the project was more cost effective and commercially competitive.
Those present included Jimmy Magro who is responsible for ensuring that the project is completed according to its timetables.
