Insite, the university students` media organisation, with various other student organisations and student representatives, will be organising the second national congress of students with the theme "Students: a vital tool for strengthening our future society".

The focus of the congress is a conference at the Bay Street Hotel on Saturday at 9.30 a.m., which will bring together student representatives from most post-secondary institutions, including university, the academia, trade unions and employers to discuss the role students have in shaping tomorrow`s society.

The conclusions of this seminar will be incorporated in a students` declaration, which is to reflect the common position of students on the field discussed and serve as an important reference for the state, university authorities and students alike.

The guest speakers are Rev. Prof. Peter Serracino Inglott, Dr Michael Frendo, and Dr Alex Sceberras Trigona.

Between Friday and Sunday at the Bay Street Shopping Complex, students are also being given the opportunity to display their talents, potential and creativity by exhibiting various academic and artistic works and participating in various cultural and sports activities.

Over 90 works of art by over 30 student artists from the university, sixth forms and MCAST, which include paintings of various styles and on various media, sculpture and photography, will be exhibited at the Artisan Market. The complex will also host several academic projects and theses by students from various faculties and institutes.
