During July and August, 100 University students will be spending some time in Egypt, Ethiopia, Naples and Bari in Italy, and Northern Ireland. They will not be going on holiday but to offer their energy and time to be with the poor and accompany them for a while.

These voluntary work initiatives, organised by the University Chaplaincy in collaboration with Ignatian Youth Network, have been held for the past 12 years.

The presence of these students in so many places with people in need is important, invaluable and irreplaceable. However, they would like to offer them something more that would have a more long-lasting presence among them.

They are inviting anyone who would like to donate money to these projects to deposit it in the following bank accounts: HSBC 0080 3376 3050 or BOV 400 1510 4618.

All the money will go to the poor and the sick, or institutions working with them. The students will all be paying for their journey and their stay there so no money donated will go towards for their expenses.

For more information about the projects and how the money will be spent, contact University Chaplain Fr Michael Bugeja, SJ, on chaplaincy@um.edu.mt or call 2340 2341, or visit www.inygo.jesuit.org.mt.
