Students from Agius de Soldanis girls secondary school raised €926 for a water project in Tanzania during ‘Walk for Water’ activities last Tuesday and Thursday to mark World Water Day.

On Tuesday, 55 students, together with their teachers, walked through the streetsof Victoria carrying two-litre bottles of water sponsored by Arkadia Ltd and a ‘Walk for water’ backpacks, given by Akvo Foundation, an NGO based in theNetherlands.

On their way they collected money from people and establishments for the project.

The students also carried banners related to water .

Eco-Gozo mascot Kikku met the students and gave each student a keychain.

The water bottles were laterdonated to Dar Ġużepp Debono in Għajnsielem which gives support to single mothers.

On Thursday, another group ofstudents marched from near Arkadia complex in Victoria to St Francis square, doing the same thing.

Both events were organised by the Eko Skola committee of the Gozo College in Victoria.
