St Martin’s College Sixth Form recently participated in the Euroscola programme in Strasbourg, France. A group of 15 students attended the event, where they joined a number of students from other European schools.

Giulio Sammut and Ryan Gatt were the two students who represented Malta and St Martin’s College with a presentation to the youth congregation at the Council of Europe.

They discussed various aspects of life in Malta.

Another student, Jessica Tortell, won the trophy for the Euroscola competition, which consisted of various exercises testing the students’ knowledge of the EU and their ability to discuss current issues.

The Maltese team also visited the European Court of Human Rights, where they were hosted by former Chief Justice Vincent De Gaetano.

This programme was complemented by visits to places of interest in the city of Strasbourg.

Throughout their stay, the students were accompanied by two of their lecturers, Anna Calì and Rennie Mercieca.
