Labour leader Joseph Muscat was this morning given a super noisy welcome at the Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary in Naxxar where about 200 students followed him on a tour around the school.

Chanting Taghna Lkoll, Ghax Ghandna l-Joseph Maghna, Ahna Maghqudin and Joseph Joseph, the students, carrying flags, followed Dr Muscat along his tour, which lasted around an hour, and which took him to classrooms, corridors and the library.

At the library, Dr Muscat was interviewed by a girl for a story in the school magazine.

Students at Giovanni Curmi are mostly aged 16 to 18.

Dr Muscat was taken around the school by Parliamentary Secretary Clyde Puli.
