Two 21-year-old French students have been conditionally discharged for three years after damaging four cars in Swieqi while drunk in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

During the proceedings, Mathieu Moulin admitted to damaging an Alfa, an Opel and a Peugeot while Ludovic Bras, admitted to damaging a Renault in Triq il-Sidra, Swieqi at around 1.30am. The pair live in Triq il-Qasam in the same town and were walking home when they damaged the cars.

The young men admitted to damaging the cars and paid €1,087 to cover the costs.

Magistrate Neville Camilleri took into consideration the nature of the crime, the fact that they had paid for the damage, and that they had no police record. 

He conditionally discharged them for three years.

Police Inspector Trevor Micallef prosecuted.
