Three young Spanish men who are in Malta to learn English this morning admitted in court to causing €3,000 worth of damage to a club in Paceville after an argument.

The case happened last night.

The three - Pablo Garnica, Raul Sanchez and Victor Peralta were thrown out of Bar Native Bar in Paceville.

But after the club closed for the night, they returned and destroyed outdoor furniture, windows and other items.

The police arrested them soon after.

The three admitted wilful damage, breaching the peace and being drunk in public.

The police said the damages amounted to €2,890.

Magistrate Edwina Grima ordered them to pay the amount by Monday and remanded them in custody.

Shortly afterwards a friend of theirs turned up in court and paid €1,200 on their behalf. The Magistrate then sentenced them to two years imprisonment suspended for four years and gave them two days to pay the outstanding amount. Their ID cards were withheld pending payment.
