We are a group of students who, as part of our Systems of Knowledge course, have done voluntary work with Nature Trust. We are writing to show our appreciation for what Nature Trust is doing at Dwejra in Gozo.

This is a protected site since there are a lot of endemic plants. Among these is a particular fungus that only grows on the Fungus Rock. Dwejra is also a magnificent beach. Tourists visit it, mostly divers who like to dive in the deep waters in search of different marine life exclusive to this place. It is also perfect for walks during which one can enjoy the flora, fauna and geology. The Dwejra Tower is still standing, although it has seen the rough times of the British forces. This project has made us appreciate the importance of this place.

If any readers have not yet visited it we invite them to come and enjoy the fascinating scenery. We would like to make a heartfelt appeal for everyone to conserve Dwejra in its natural state. This would be a step in the right direction for greater environmental awareness.
