Spiral, the Junior College company that won this year's HSBC Junior Achievement Young Enterprise (JA-YE) award for producing the first Maltese text-message dictionary, has been sponsored by communications company Go.
Go will be giving the technical and IT support necessary to launch Spiral's innovative product - Malti9 - locally and abroad.
Spiral's main objective in opting for Malti9 was specifically to promote Maltese. The company's Java application is considered to be of essential use for customers wanting to compose SMS using a Maltese-aided dictionary built into the mobile phone, Go said.
As a gesture of appreciation and support for the winning team's achievement, Go has sponsored the team's visit to Sweden where Spiral will be representing Malta in the Junior Achievement Young Enterprise European contest this weekend. Locally, Spiral swept the awards, winning Best Use of Innovation, Best Use of Technology, Best Product and the coveted Company of The Year award. JA-YE Malta has high hopes of doing Malta proud at the European contest.
This year, JA-YE Malta is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Go has supported JA-YE for a number of years together with HSBC.
