Malta will be celebrating a windswept New Year’s Eve, with strong gusts of wind expected to blow across the island through the night to Tuesday morning.

The strong north and northwesterly winds reaching up to force 6 will likely last until 8am, according to the Malta International Airport meteorological office.

Thankfully, the winds will not be accompanied by any rain, with meteorologists expecting the weather to remain dry through to Wednesday.
