The Malta Consumer Affairs Authority has warned of a strangulation risk from a chord forming part of the Angelcare Movement and Sound Baby Monitor.

The Authority said the cord is attached to the baby monitor’s sensor pad which is placed under the crib mattress. The risk arises if the baby pulls the cord into the crib and it becomes wrapped around the neck.

Consumers were urged not to use the product or to use a kit kit issued to mitigate this risk. The kit constitutes of a set of cord covers designed to hold the sensor’s cords in place and out of reach of the child.
